The Container Project

One goal of HKA is to purchase a shipping container and locate it in Hopewell Valley to collect bulky donated goods for transporting to Keroka.  Using a shipping container would allow us to send donated items that cannot be transported in suitcases by the students and adults who visit Kenya on school, HKA or private trips.  Examples of needed items we would like to collect and transport are new or used books, school supplies, computers, medical equipment, bicycles, sports equipment, clothes and much more. After arrival in Keroka, the container will be permanently located at a school for use as secure storage. Current prices for used 40 ft. long containers are about $2500 and shipping may cost $5000 or more, but this will still provide the most cost-effective means of shipping bulky donations to Keroka.
